Dr. Steve Barkwell was born in Edmonton but grew up on the west coast of British Columbia where he attended UBC for his post-secondary education, earning degrees in Biochemistry (B.Sc.) and Dentistry (D.D.S). He has been back and practicing dentistry in Alberta for over 11 years now, surrounded by friends and family.
Dr. Barkwell enjoys the great variety of procedures in dentistry and likes to be a one stop shop for treatment. Providing a wide array of services such as Implants, Invisalign, Kids dentistry, Wisdom teeth, TMJ services such as Therapeutic Botox, Cosmetic build-ups and other cosmetic procedures.
During his spare time you can find Dr. Barkwell playing on multiple ice hockey teams, riding his bike around the river valley, surfing his favourite lakes and with his family.
Stephen was born and raised in the small town of Brooks, Alberta, where he graduated from Brooks Composite High School. He previously studied at Medicine Hat College and MacEwan University. He completed his education at the University of Alberta, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Stephen believes in the importance of comprehensive dental care and treatment, as well as proper communication and patient education. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys involvement in theatre and the performing arts. He is fond of singing, plays the guitar, is a playwright, and has acted in several community and semi-professional theatre productions in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Stephen is a member in good standing with the Alberta Dental Association.
